Actually the hardware was already bought and "the powers above" just
instructed that a cluster must be implemented ASAP, so I'll have to get
it done... 

Just for you to see how dumb managers can be, they told me they wanted
all their domains (54 companies, with 54 different sub-domains) to be
hosted by the same Domain Controller.... I almost had a heart attack
when I heard that. And can you believe that they kept insisting that it
was possible, even after I said it wasn't?

Note that if Exchange and SQL are going to be heavily used, you run the
risk of overburdening your cluster. Generally, Exchange and SQL server
are
best implemented on separate boxes. In fact, you may get better
performance by implementing these as stand-alone servers due to the
overhead of clustering. And if you put in the right hardware
configuration
of disks and redundant power supplies, etc. you can achieve close to the
level of fault tolerance as with a cluster.
