Just wondering,

You said 1 forest 2 nt domains. First nt domain has an exchange server and is working
fine. 2nd nt domain gives you the error you have described below when trying to
install a exchange server.

Have you created a 2 way trust between the win2k domain and the 2nd nt domain. Can you
get to the win2k dc cia pinging it by FQDN.

Does your first nt domain have a trust with win2k domain. Also just curious if you are
running in native mode why not just convert 2nd nt domain to a AD domain. But make
sure there are trusts setup between ll these domains that might be worth looking into
and also make sure you can get to the DC using its FQDN.

Let us know if this helped.

Subject: domainprep on 2nd nt domain that belongs to a forest

Greetings,

MSX2000+SP3+native mode
W2K+SP3+native mode
1 forest , two diferent NTdomains

NT domain 1 has exchange server already installed and working, our intention
is to install MSX2000 in the 2nd Nt domain, we ran /domainprep 9on the 2nd
ntdomain), we got

setup is unable to access the windows 2000 active directory
failed to contact the schema master server for this active directory forest

on MSX2000 Ntdomain-1 I have delegated FullExchadmin admin to the account of
NTdomain-2 and also added as local admin of DC-1, still get the same error.

any ideas?

thanks,
-er
