I upgraded an NT4/Exchange 5.5 machine to Win2k recently. We are running a Win2k domain, and the machine was previously a BDC. When prompted by Active Directory to upgrade, I selected "leave as member server". Everything was fine.
Now I am getting some strange Active Directory behaviour, a machine added to the domain is saying it can't log in, domain users can't log in on that machine. Here's where exchange comes in: I checked my AD DNS, and I see the following, under domain.com\_msdcs\domains\somelongstring\_tcp: Dc1.domain.com Dc2.domain.com Exchangeserver (no suffix). They are all listed as _ldap, SRV records. I know exchange uses ldap queries on port 389, like AD, but should this be listed here? What I'm fearing is that member servers & workstations are trying to access my exchange server to logon, and failing.. (and not looking any further). Am I anywhere close?
