No. Move the mailboxes to your central site, and save the cost of 5 Exchange servers.
I have had plenty of 20 person offices hitting Exchange across WAN links without issue. In fact, I have 2 offices going half way across Europe, with 30 users each, to the only office there that can support Exchange (from an admin standpoint).
