Have an interesting problem. Currently have our exchange server locked down so that no one can route mail from outside the internal network. Now we are setting up remote monitoring PC's that are using the internet to send alerts. But obviously that will not work since they are outside the internal network. Inputting IP info for each machine is not desired as there are over 300 machines that will be doing this and their addresses may change. Looking for a means that these computers can authenticate to the server. This is something that can be inserted into the code of the software sending alerts. But I am not seeing a sure fire way to accomplish this. So to sum it up, exchange server is locked down so no system outside the internal network can route mail. Need to find a way that certain systems that are outside the internal network can route mail thru our server using some sort or authentication that is hard coded into our software. Or any other means that anyone can think of. Thanks
