Config - Exchange 5.5 Enterprise edition with SP4 in an active active
cluster (yeah I know it is not great, but that is what we inherited). The
cluster is attched via high speed switch to a SAN where the IS is located.

Situation -- over the past few days we have had a couple of Dr. Watson
events on the cluster. Each time it basically says there were network
communication errors with the Exchange server (Event 1005 with an
"unexpected error of <<0xc0040000 - Network problems are preventing
connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer. Microsoft Exchange
Server Information Store ID no: 80040115-0514-000006be>> occurred."

I have had network folks check out the physical connections between the
server and the SAN with no success at finding any physical problem with
cables, NIC, or switch (we have a second cluster on the same switch and
going to the same SAN which hasn't had a lick of problems).

Some additional notes on the problem cluster -
1) The majority of the Public Folders are homed on this cluster.
2) There are 1390 mailboxes on the problem server (the one that is fine only
has 1123 mailboxes).
3) We do have plans to migrate the PF's off to another server to reduce the
load on the effected server.
4) We also are planning to load balance the user count between them.

Any additional thoughts as to what to check on the communication problem?
