Abwesenheitsnotiz: FECK! was another OOF I got which I found quite enjoyable.
Anyway, the problem is that those messages are actual mail messages, not some silly little delivery or read receipts. Therefore, they're indistinguishable from other messages if one causally glances at their headers. Currently, the only way to spot them is via the subject line. Shall we make an RFC proposal about the structure of OOF replies? That's the only resolution I see, to get a standard made that sets a bit somewhere so mail programs can spot the messages and trash them instantly, should one desire one's mail program to do such a thing. Perhaps we can also get them to define a bit somewhere to identify SPAM... I got one today informing me that someone was out of the office between 22nd & 23rd of August! As a side note, does anyone know how to identify an OOF programatically using CDO other than looking at the message subject - I have a VB program that monitors my inbox for new messages, then reads the subject and sender to me using MSAgent. I have hard coded it to ignore messages that have a subject beginning "Out of Office", but I get several OOF's in foreign languages when I post to the list which have subjects like "Abwesenheitsnotiz:" Chris Quinn IT Manager Blue Planet Aquarium -----Original Message----- From: Great Cthulhu Jones [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 20 December 2002 15:44 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: FECK!
