You were right. Don't know why the legacy domain name was being used all a sudden. I first tried forcing the DNS Suffix on the IM server to see if it was a flaky DNS related issue why it was pulling from the wrong domain. That didn't seem to do it. I had to delete the _rvp record from the old domain. Killed the ESM and restarted and everything started working as expected.
