I wanted to update this particular discussion.  I took the advise to
update the PC in question to MS-Office SR-1 and then to SR-2.  I found
that the PC had two different MS-Office installs listed in Add/Remove
Programs along with a seperate listing for MS-Word.  I uninstalled all
MS-Office applications and then re-installed MS-Office with all the
service packs. Once this was completed, attaching any file in OWA worked
perfectly.  I am not recommending the complete uninstall of MS-Office and
then a reinstall with the service packs.  I just did it this way becuase
of the mess I found with regards to the number of installations of
MS-Office.  The services packs seem to be the key to getting OWA
attachments working.
