Windows 2000 Active Directory in Mixed Mode, Exchange 2000 Org in Native Mode.
I recently mail-enabled a bunch (~75) of user accounts. I noticed that one, and only one, user account did not get updated by RUS with an email address. 2 events appeared in the application event log, ID 8315 and ID 8270. A Microsoft KB search revealed article Q328675, which described my situation. The resolution the article offered was to check the Security tab of the user object and to select Allow inheritable permissions, if it was not already selected. Inheritable permissions were not enabled on this account, so I enabled it. Shortly thereafter, the email address was populated, hence solving my original problem. So my question is, how did this get disabled in the first place? I've gone through a number of my user objects and noticed a handful of accounts that do not have inheritable permissions enabled, yet those accounts aren't exhibiting any problems. Can anyone explain what happened?
