Subject: mta ,dat files

I have a bunch of mta .dat files stuck in my mtadata folder. I have
checked Technet and am currently working with MS techs and still no
success. I have reinstalled Exchange 5.5 and applied SP4. Out of 1800
.dat files only 177 were processed. The MTA queue is at 0.

What can I do to flush the files out of the mtadata folder.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Now I have over 1900 .dat files
and growing.
