The IS shouldn't really get fragmented unless you have the logs writing to the same drive or there is some other file activity taking place. If you really wanted to defrag it, I would probably shut all the Exchange services down first (to close the open files) and then run the defrag.

Recently CAUnicenter Monitoring agents were added to our servers. We have an alert saying that the disk containing the priv and pub.edb files are 100% fragmented on all of our servers. If I analyze the drive with disk defragmenter, I see a large fragmented section for the priv and a smaller fragmented section for the pub. Does this seem normal, and If not has anyone done a disk defrag on the database drive? I have verified that the normal online IS maintenance/defrag does run each night for the database. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks, Tony _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
