Have you read the Knowledge Base articles about removing the first server in a site or administrative group?

It was the first server that was built so I moved the routing master to another server. Every time I shut the server to be decommissioned down free/busy time blows up. Am I missing something? This is the first time that I have ever had to decommission a server so I may have missed something. I just don't want to delete it from the organization without knowing everything is complete first. The only thing I can find about decommissioning anything with EX2000 is when switching to native mode. The environment is all EX2000 SP3 and we are running native mode.
