Wade,

I had the same problem with two different servers. In both cases it was the
APC UPS. Replaced the UPS and I never seen the problem again

Subject: Exchange server unexpected reboot

I have an Exchange 2000 server running on a dell Poweredge 2500 that has
experienced an unexpected reboot for the third consecutive Tuesday. I can
not find anything that runs as a task on Tuesday and there is no evidence in
the application logs of anything wrong other than "system shutdown was
unexpected". The server has not had any configuration changes other than
Exchange SP 3 a few months ago. When the server reboots I get a SMTPSRV
event 5000 "The message file 'C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\Mailroot\vsi
1\Queue\NTFS_5cab8dfd01c329ba00074962.EML' in the queue directory
'C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\Mailroot\vsi 1\Queue' is corrupt and has not been
enumerated"
I can not believe a corrupt message could be causing the reboot. Has anyone
had a similar experience?

Thanks!
