Here is my setup: 2 Exchange 2000 SP3 servers that send outbound e-mail via an SMTP relay (SurfControl SMTP E-Mail Filter).
The Internet Mail Connector is setup to forward all outbound e-mail to the SMTP relay server. I am seeing messages with large attachements (1MB and larger) slow down delivery of outbound e-mail. I can watch these messages enter the IMC SMTP queue and virtually block other messages from being delivered. After 5 minutes or so, all the messages get move to an Undeliverable SMTP queue. The process repeats itself in about a 10 minutes cycle. During the cycle a few messages manage to slip out. The marketing department uses e-mail to deliver radio spots (mp3 files) to radio stations and are reporting that it takes 12 hours or longer for some recepiants to receive the e-mails. (I know there are better ways to transfer large attachments but I lost that battle) Any suggestions on how to optimize the connection or what may be causing my problem? Thanks, - Matt _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&text_mode=&lang=english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
