Since we're on the subject, what have people been doing to counteract the p*rn messages their receiving that have images embedded in them? Just set up a block on the address or anyone have a more inventive solution?

I'll assume 5.5, since that's the only one I can address. With Ex5.5, in the properties of your IMS, Connections tab, Message filtering... button, add your domain name in there. You would add @luminet.net. If you are connected via VPN/dial-up, then you are connected internally to the Exchange server, which means any e-mail you send will be sent via MAPI internally or OUT through the IMS...it won't be coming in through the IMS.
