In an all 2000 server (native mode) environment is it possible to query AD via LDAP? I know in Exchange you just use the Global address list, I however still have POP/SMTP clients that we would like to set up a Directory Service to allow them to search AD. I tried to add one of my Global Catalog servers as an LDAP server on an Outlook client but the server doesn't respond to the port 389 LDAP request. Has anyone ever seen this done? I thought AD used LDAP?
