Hello Everyone Question: The Environment is as such
One Parent Domain with two child domains. The root is TestLab.com, the main child domain is company.Testlab.com and the other child domain which is in the DMZ, is Compmail.testlab.com.
In Ad sites and Services, I have a LAB site with the following Global catalogs, Serv1.TestLab.com and Serv3.company.Testlab.com. We also have an IMX site which has the global Catalog Serv4.Compmail.testlab.com. We also have 18 other sites, each with a global catalog. For example we have an ATL site with GC atlsrv1.company.testlab.com. When Serv3 is down, users at the LAB site cannot browse the address list because they look to Serv1.testlab.com (this has a partial GC information for Serv3.company.testlab.com). Therefore, what i will like to happen is to prevent users from looking to Serv1.testlab.com for GC requests and to look at one of the other 18 sites (Only when Serv3 is down). In speaking with an MS Technician about 4 or 5 months ago, he suggested this could be done by editing the msdc records in DNS. Has anyone seen any articels on this or know how i can accomplish this
Thanks
