I don't much like MessageLabs or any other managed services. When someone
spoofed one of our external addresses and sent viruses to us and to loads of
others in our name, MessageLabs were on the phone to me... Not to try and
help out, but to try and sell me their product. The message had manifestly
NOT come from my domain, as anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of e-mail
headers could have told them. And the ambulance chasing really made me feel
a little queasy.
Plus, I wonder how much legitimate mail they refuse to deliver...?
I believe in protecting my own servers and in user education about viruses
and spam. And I believe in long, slow, wet kisses that last all night.
Isn't that the expression?
Tim
