I am working with a relatively new Ex2K build and have had two different external contacts report intermittent NDR's. There is no PIX firewall in place and ESMTP verbs have been disabled on our end.
The NDR is "4.4.1 Did not receive the expected protocol response." Searching the usual sources has turned up nothing.
