Further to the below, I have noticed that although the initial folder
replication stops short of the mark, any changes made to either copy of
the public folder (the incomplete copy or the original full copy)
replicate to each other. This includes modifying records that were not
replicated initially.

We set up a new public folder on the server with the full copy of the pf
and exported the original pf content to a PST. We then copied the content
into the new test pf. Exact same problem, initial repication stops and
only changes are replicated after that.

There are errors in the event log ID 270 and 290 which match the MS
article 251016 but no one actually emails the smtp address of this folder.
This error seems to co-incide with the point in time at which the initial
replication stops working and it switches to just replicating changes.

If you have any ideas or solutions for this problem please let me know. I
was about to start manually moving the contacts from PST back to the PF a
few at a time in case its an individual item causing this problem.

Cheers.

Hi,
MSX 5.5 on NT4 SP6a trying to replicate public folder with a server
matching that same description across the Internet. Seperate sites
connected using x400 (opened port x400 on both ends) and seperate NT4
domains.

The folder had stopped updating previously, so we removed the replica from
that server, let the changes filter through, then re-created the replica.
The folder started to fill again, but shortly afterwards it stopped, short
of size of the proper folder. Its been 24 hours now and the replication
for the folder is set to always, but still no change in size (it did
replicate more then previously).

The folder is pathetically small (less then 1MB) so I cant imagine why its
causing so much greif.

The replication status of that folder on the server with the incomplete
replica is showing as 'remote modified'.

Any ideas on what causes this folder to replicate incompletely and how we
might fix the problem.

Regards,
Luke
