mail.bw.edu is the domain not the host, no there is no A record. But it does
have an MX record.

mail.bw.edu does not exist

====================

C:\Program Files\pstools>ping mail.bw.edu

Ping request could not find host mail.bw.edu. Please check the name and try agai

n.

C:\Program Files\pstools>nslookup

Default Server:  <my DNS server>

Address:  >redacted>

> set type=mx

> bw.edu

Server:  <redacted>

Address:  <redacted>

Non-authoritative answer:

bw.edu  MX preference = 15, mail exchanger = smg.bw.edu

bw.edu  MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = sms.bw.edu

smg.bw.edu      internet address = 198.30.10.172

sms.bw.edu      internet address = 198.30.10.170
