Paul, Not sure if you solved your problem but we had the same issue, particularly with clients who's mailbox was migrated to 2013 but were trying to access a shared/resource mailbox still on 2010.
We found that NTLM needed to be listed at the top of the "Enabled Providers" list under Windows Authentication for both 2013 and 2010's RPC virtual directory. Just my 2 cents. Sounds like the Kerberos auth issue described by Ross in this post http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2015/02/20/exchange-2013-and-exchange-2010-coexistence-with-kerberos-authentication.aspx<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__blogs.technet.com_b_exchange_archive_2015_02_20_exchange-2D2013-2Dand-2Dexchange-2D2010-2Dcoexistence-2Dwith-2Dkerberos-2Dauthentication.aspx&d=CwMFAg&c=aLnS6P8Ng0zSNhCF04OWImQ_He2L69sNWG3PbxeyieE&r=Cp9ZFN0aIrPs8YpViY2kDcaspDEnj0iLYHdONdNH_Zw&m=4P847OVGfNwk5yZEfRMUlG_k-JY_2_DzM_mcVIhwS5w&s=S6Y1uE0jesdwz5smZTr30u0xCdksfAAO1XvhB5iLShg&e=> From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Paul Cookman Sent: Thursday, October 22, 2015 8:40 AM To: '[email protected]' <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Subject: [Exchange] Password Prompts 2010/2013 Coexist. Hi, I have a coexistence of 2010 & 2013 with some shared mailboxes and public folders being on the 2010 server but everything else on 2013. Some users are getting prompted for a username and password when connecting. I have NTLM set on the 2013 Outlook anywhere and basic on the backend 2010 outlook anywhere. Any ideas how I can stop this?
