Are you using Windows 2K or Windows NT? With W2K you can use a GPO for these
settings, add the Office Templates into User Templates of the GPO and you
can configure most things you are describing. If you using NT then I guess
you could use config.pol and again add the Office templates. The office
templates *.adm are installed under c:\winnt\inf when you install the Office
Resource Kit.

Subject: Outlook Settings in Automated Install

Hi,

I'm putting together an automated install for Outlook 2000 (SR-2).

I want it to install Outlook with some (but not all) settings pre-configured
- things on the Tools|Options menu like AutoArchive settings and so on.

I think I can do it by exporting a .reg file from the relevant part of the
Registry on a machine that I've made the config changes on and then adding
that .reg file to the relevant screen in the Office Custom Installation
Wizard. I don't really want to use the Office Profile Wizard as the machines
I'm installing on already have Word/Excel/Powerpoint installed, so I don't
want to overwrite the settings for those apps.

The bit of info I'm missing is where in the registry does Outlook 2000 save
the settings taken from the Tools|Options menu. I've searched around, but I
think it must be one of those long GUID number identifiers....

Anyone done it?

Cheers,
Charles
