Subject: Move IS and DS to a machine with a new nameUsing Exchange 5.5 SP 3 on a clustered server using Legato CoStandby Server. I need to take Exchange server off of the clustered server and set it up on a new server. However, I cannot change the name of the existing server. For some reason, I cannot set up the new server as a member server of the existing exchange server (the costandby server software gets in the way of directory replication and the install fails). So, I need to move the IS and DS to a new machine with a new name. I have tried exporting the directory to CSV files, changing the site information to the new machine and importing. This did move all of the DS over to the new server. I then tried to restore the IS from an online backup (using NTBackup). The IS appears to be there and the directory seems intact, but now I can start the ES or the MTA.
Is there a better way to move this data to a new server, or am I stuck exporting everyone to PSTs, killing the old server and reinstalling/restoring on a new server.
