I can confirm you are correct.  Typically, I don't enter a username and
password for the MTA's and Site Connectors, but it doesn't hurt either.

Just looking for a confirmation on this setting change. 

Exchange 5.5 SP4 NT4 
3 sites, 1 org, 1 NT domain.

I changed the Service Account password per Q157780 and all seemed ok
until the MTA Queues started backing up.

Looked at the Site Connector config, override accounts and passwords had
been entered, even though all sites are in the same domain. Updated the
password and mail stared to flow again.

I believe I can just delete the username and password with no ill
affect.

Could anyone confirm?
