I must admit, I've not heard of queue.bad

It will be ok to delete it as far as I know.  You can even delete
queue.dat, as the IMS creates a new one when it starts (although you
don't need to in this case).

I think that some other muppet may have renamed the queue.dat file to
queue.bad and just left it there for me to discover. Does this sound
about right?
