You can tick the box "Propagate these properties to all subfolders" on a
parent folder, and one of the options is "Home Server". This should at
least minimise the GUI method.

PFAdmin has a rehome command. I'm just trying to see if you can script
a mass change using it.

Using the GUI I do believe it's done per folder.

No easy way to re-home the PFs other than one-by-one?

You'll have to rehome the public folders to the new server.

Don't buy the server administration guide.
Buy Paul Robichaux's Managing Microsoft Exchange Server.

This is what I don't get. (I can hear the hecklers warming up...) Per
the KB article, I should follow practices outlined in the Microsoft
Exchange Server Administrator Guide, chapter 12 and 15. Since I don't
HAVE the MS Exchange Server Administrator Guide, I can't easily do
that... If I'm told to go out and buy it, I'll sigh, and go do so.

Would anyone be so kind as to tell me how this is done? (or am I asking
a dumb question? I'm reaching for my wallet right now...)

Thanks, Sean

Public folders are replicated to all servers by default. Make sure they
are all rehomed to th new server as per Q152959.

These servers should be on the same sp, too.

I want to make sure I'm doing this right, as we need to "reclaim" our
old Exchange server and commit it to new use.

Step 5 states to make "replicas of the public folders on the new
server." Is there a good way to do this for ALL public folders? Or do I
simply go into each public folder on the list and set up a replication
scheme and schedule? I'm a little slow on the uptake of public folder
replication between servers in the same site - any info would be
appreciated. I don't want to strand any public folders.

Exchange 5.5 for both servers, old is running SP3, new is SP4, both on
Windows NT Server 4.0 SP6.

Thanks, Sean
