The event service is independent of the normal events Exchange will post to
the application event log. The event service is for server side scripting
of exchange triggered by events in certain folders. If you do not use this,
then you do not need it.

I have installed Exchange 5.5 sp4 on a new NT4 server. The Exchange Event
Service is not there when I look at the Services. Is there a way to get it
back? I have searched technet to no avail. This is my only Exchange
server. Not having the Event service doesn't seem to affect the performance
of Exchange, but I fear that I am not going to get any Event messages if
something fails, and that would be bad. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
