Title: Permissions Problems in Exchange Admin
Neil,

Sounds almost as if something somewhere in the network could be remembering the MAC address of the old NIC.  Can't exactly think where though at the moment (it is Friday afternoon after all): have you tried both deleting all the existing WINS entries for the server so that they get recreated, and purging the netbios cache - nbtstat -R ?

Done that, big no no. Having problems mapping id's in the SAM. It seems as though despite being able to pick up the user manager for domains list, the BDC / Ex server is unable to recognise the relevant authority permissions. According to MS (q152880) this is a known problem in MS Exserver 4, which is a great help. As it stands, SMTP traffic is flowing OK, it's only me being able to access the various connectors in Ex admin which is the issue. Just a little bit annoying from an admin's point of view

Can anyone point in the right direction?

I recently had to replace the NIC in my Exchange Server (NT4 SP6a, Ex5.5 Sp4) Once this had been done, I've been unable to access the IMC in Exchange Admin - I keep receiving the following message:

Extension SMTP could not be loaded
You do not have the permissions to complete the operation
MS Exchange Directory
ID NO: DS_E_INSUFFICIENT ACCESS RIGHTS

I've checked the various add ins and connections and the permissions associated with them - all appears to be correct
