On the outbound connectivity you should have mail forwarded to smart
host and that IP should be the mail essentials machine. Make sure the
MES machine is resolving correctly as well as is listening on port 25
from internal and external.

Subject: Mail Essentials

Hi.

I tried to install Mail Essentials on a system that had Exchange 5.5
(SP4) on it. I have done the backup routine etc. Installed Mail
Essentials changed ports and services file etc. I then had issues with
intialisation of object in the MMC. Due to the fact that this was a
remote site and time constraints etc I have reconfigured everything back
to the way it was and allseemed to be fine. But alas, it will download
mail from the ISP via smtp (Fine) but it will not upload files. It
complains that it can not resolve hosts. (Host unreachable) in the
queues dialogue box. This is a server that is forwarding all mail to
the ISP mail gateway. I am struggling abit for the quick fix and would
appreciate thoughts.

Thanks in advance.
