i head the same thing happen, did the same things you did (exchange 5.5) and
then changed the priorities of the other messages) waited, and was
eventually able to grab and delete that msg.

Subject: Message sitting in the MTA queue for hours...

Hi All,
I've got this huge message sitting on a remote site's MTA queue. I can
delete it because it says it's in the process of being sent. However, it's
still sitting there for a couple of days now.
Isn't there a timeout that should be triggered? I know the IMS does have a
timeout of 4 hours but I can't see a timeout setting anywhere for the MTA.
Does anyone know how to delete that message? I did put some limit on the
MTA and restarted the service to no avail.
Thanks,
Rodney Li
