Works great for us with both running.  As you said, just be very careful to exclude the Exch directories.  Trust me on that one.  Unless you want to find out how helpful the PSS folks really are[1].

For what it is worth, we use both Norton CE and Norton for Exchange and it works fine.  You just have to make sure to exclude the appropriate directories.

Read the whole post. He isnt going to scan the exchsrvr dirs. It may not be such a bad idea.

Non-Exchange AV is not wise.  Is the cost of Exchange aware AV too high for u ?

This issue may have been discussed before. If so, please accept my
apologies for having missed the discussions.

We are looking at installing Norton AntiVirus ver. 7.51 Build 847 on our
Exchange 5.5 (SP4) servers to scan the non database files.  This would be
set up for real time scanning.

I have read and heard various discussions on installing Antivirus products
on Exchange servers, both for and against.  Are there any real reasons why
I should not install this product on my servers, as my managers and
supervisors feel that this server should be fully protected, both the
database and shares.
