Renaming the IS transaction logs folder

Would renaming the MDBDATA folder affect the server functionality. I have run out of space on one hard drive and need to move the transaction logs folder to a different one. however the mdbdata folder on the other drives already contain the IS files.Performance optimizer suggests the same location.Any imputs will be appreciated.   Thanks Ismaila kane List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
