Windows Explorer & Outlook.

 

Drag and drop messages from Outlook folder to any storage folder (CD, HDD, network, etc.)  No PST.  Inexpensive.   Archive all messages before a certain date?   Click the Date header, scroll to preferred date, Shift key, End (or Home), drag-n-drop.

 

Reading the messages from a CD is easy enough after that... double-click on the message in the CD folder.   No read-only issues as in PSTs.  No need to restore.  What could be easier?

Ok all, I can only guess this is a popular issue or has been at some point, so apologies for the redundancy...

 

Can anyone recommend a 3rd party app to assist in taking users' msgs from various folders and custom folders and archiving them to another media (CD-ROM, Network folder, etc).  I realize that using PSTs is an option, but I'd like an easier one. 

 

My hope is that I can move the unneeded msgs to a CD, then return CD to user along with some simple instructions on how to restore any of the needed msgs.

W2K Advanced Server

Exchange 5.5, SP4
