If 34 is a front-end server, you can't have mailboxes on it can you? Or can you?
Thanks Rob PS Did you look at the IIS SMTP Logs from 34 and 35, you might have to turn up the detail that is being logged because by default you don't get very much. -----Original Message----- From: Carl Houseman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 21 May 2002 19:58 To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Messages not arriving from particular addresses I don't think you'd see the bounce in the server 35 log if the message never cleared the initial SMTP dialog, which would be the case for an RFC rejection of the MAIL FROM address. At this point I'd suggest an analyzer which can display the smtp traffic between 34 and 35. Or, to further rule out things and confuse yourself, put a mailbox on server 34 and see if the message comes in OK. Or bypass 34, having the mail deliver directly to server 35. Good luck. Plus, if server 35 (the mailbox server) was bouncing the messages (for whatever reason), I should see the fact that it was bouncing it. But there is nothing, nada, like a void reaches out and swallows up this guy's messages somewhere between Exchange Server 34 and Exchange Server 35 (both 2000 and both at SP2). An even more fun aspect is that if [EMAIL PROTECTED] sends to my Yahoo.com address, it arrives with no problems at all. Bob also tells me that he is sending to other businesses with no problem. Crazy crazy crazy. Thanks though! --- Carl Houseman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > This sounds like Bob has messed up his reply > address.
