If you plan to just power off the server you may want to make sure you
remove and PF replicas and delete the PF store; otherwise the other PF
server will queue up all the updates.

Thanks but I ran a check in adcu for left over items before the trial
shutdown and it just showed the sys mailbox. I'm just going to shut the
server down for a week or so then uninstall.

thx

Reading between the lines in your post....did you try to
uninstall 2003 and get an error that said there were still mailboxes on
the server?

If that is your issue then that mailbox is not the problem. You
don't need to move that one. You have a 'hidden' mailbox on that server.
I usually find it is an account that was not supposed to have a mailbox,
but when it was created the admin did check that box.......and the
account never got any email and never logged into exchange so there is
no visible mailbox. But AD says there is.....

So it is that 'phantom' mailbox you are looking for.

In ADUC add the column for the exchange store and you will see
the account that is shown by AD to still be on that server. Right click
the account and remove the Exchange attributes.

I got tossed into a 2007 upgrade so far everything has gon text
book but I'm down to the last steps of removing the first exchange
server (2003) and the system mailbox is the only thing left on the
server. I tried to move it but I get no options in the exchange task
list in the 2003 sys manager. I don't know where to look for it in the
2007 sys manager. Can anyone give a boot in the right direction?

        TIA

        Matt
