There are several Windows Mobile 6 devices available today. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/6/default.mspx
An administrator can wipe these devices remotely. In addition, the end-user can initiate a remote wipe of their own device using OWA (Options-->Mobile Devices) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb684907.aspx Yes, Windows Mobile supports Microsoft Direct Push for e-mail. Direct Push Technology requires either Windows Mobile 5.0 with the Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP) or Windows Mobile 6, connected with either Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 or Exchange Server 2007. http://www.microsoft.com/asia/directpush/whatis.mspx#Leverage For Direct Push e-mail the IPhone and Windows Mobile devices are generally the same. It seems very hard to find a PPC with windows mobile 6 on it...is that because its new? Seems most have WM5. My boss picked up an iPaq with WM6 and I have been trying to figure out how to attach it to exchange so that you can do the remote wipe and all of that but I cant seem to figure it out. Does anyone have one or use this functionality that can point me in the right direction? In activesync I have everything under 'sync with pc' unchecked and everything under exchange checked but I still don't think that exchange knows anything about the device. From what I've seen somewhere in exchange or OWA you should be able to see the name of the device. Does windows mobile support the 'push' type of connection? Honestly ive been seeing stuff about the iphone update to support push exchange and that looks pretty nice and almost easier than the experience (granted very limited experience) with windows mobile. Thoughts? Thanks Ehren J.
