Hello
We renamed our domain some months ago. After that our mail would work but very
slow on start, send and shutdown plus frequently crash for all users on a
terminal server. We found the reason to be that the Microsoft Exchange Server
in all our Outlook profiles was pointing to the old domain. I phoned Microsoft
on this and they said we had done all the steps and that we needed to build up
a .PRF to set the Exchange server to the proper domain. I initially put it in
the login script but quickly found this .PRF dropped the signature selection
and Microsoft said there was no way to set that or force it to be left alone in
the .PRF. We have temporarily solved it by adding an alias into the HOSTS file
on our terminal servers. But I am now looking at moving from Exchange 2003 to
Exchange 2007 and need to clean up this Outlook profile issue. Has anybody
worked up a little script that grovels through the registry replacing x with y
or any other solution.
