No both mailboxes should be there.  Did you run the mailbox cleanup tool so 
that it marks the mailbox as disconnected.

I think I know what "may" have happened. When I recreated the users account I 
then created a mailbox, then I deleted said mailbox and maybe that over wrote 
the one that was stored in disconnected mailboxes because it had the same name. 
Could that be what happened?

Running Exchange 2007 and Win 2008. I have mailbox retention set for 90 day and 
I deleted a users account this morning from ADUC, now I have recreated their 
account and I would like to connect the old mailbox with his new account but I 
cant find it and it isnt listed under disconnected mailboxes. Where might it 
have gone?
