No both mailboxes should be there. Did you run the mailbox cleanup tool so that it marks the mailbox as disconnected.

When I recreated the users account I then created a mailbox, then I deleted said mailbox and maybe that over wrote the one that was stored in disconnected mailboxes because it had the same name.
