PSTs are only supported on local disk, not across a network.

You could install Exchange 2010 into a forest where Exchange 5.5 is, as long as
the ADC is not installed (and if it ever was installed, it was cleanly removed).

Subject: Exchange 2010 install into same Forest as Exchange 5.5

Does anyone know of any issues with installing Exchange 2010 into the same
Forest as an Exchange 5.5 server?

As Exchange 5.5 holds it's own schema and does not touch the AD, I think there
will be No issue.

I can't see anywhere that says Exch 2k10 it can't be installed in same Forest.
It is only at Org level were the issue lies. Exch2k10 will be in new Org.

Is this correct?

The users will have new Mailbox on Exchange 2010. The pst's are going to be
exported from 5.5 and will reside on the SAN and attached to profile.
Not imported into Exchange 2010 mailbox.

Does this sound viable?

Comments appreciated
