When I set the test room AutomateProcessing configuration to None the Outlook dialogue box started happening.
I then changed the production room to None and immediately changed it back to AutoAccept and now it is prompting with the dialogue as well. The end result is what I want but I wish I understood why. :) From: Dahl, Peter [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, February 22, 2010 2:38 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: 2007 Resource Room Configuration Anomaly Jay, Thanks for the suggestion. I had already set Outlook's resource scheduling options. On the Exchange side our standard is to change the AutomateProcessing configuration from AutoUpdate to AutoAccept. I will create a test room and set AutomateProcessing to None and see what happens with that room. Thanks, Peter Dahl. From: Reische Jay [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, February 22, 2010 2:27 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: 2007 Resource Room Configuration Anomaly Peter, these are two different settings. What you are looking to do it set up DOB (direct online booking). That can be done by logging onto the resource and setting the calendar settings appropriately. You will also need to turn off auto accept on the resource using Powershell. Set-MailboxCalendarSettings -Id roomID -AutomateProcessing None How to Define a Resource Account 1. Create a new e-mail account for the resource by using the Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator account. 2. Start Outlook by using the new resource account to create the default folders in the mailbox on the server. 3. On the Tools menu, click Options. 4. Click Calendar Options, and then click Resource Scheduling. 5. Click to select all three Meeting Request options, and then click Set Permissions. 6. Click Add to add the users that will be allowed to use the resource. 7. Assign at least Author permissions for each user. 8. Click OK to close the dialog boxes, and then quit Outlook. Can anyone tell me what I might have missed? When you send a meeting request to this new room the message is sent then an e-mail confirmation or denial is sent back to the original sender telling them whether the room accepted the request or not. With other conference rooms when I send a meeting request an Outlook dialogue box prompts at the time of send if the meeting room is booked or not - no e-mail confirmation just the dialogue box. Does anyone know how I can change the behavior on this new room so that the Outlook pop-up dialogue will appear versus the e-mail confirmation after the meeting is sent? I used Powershell to compare the MailboxCalendarSettings with another calendar that is working the way we want this one to but I did not find any discrepancies. Thanks, Peter Dahl.
