What?
Changing the DC state of a server where Exchange is installed - while Exchange
is installed - is not a supported operation. It BREAKS stuff.
RPC/HTTP may - or may not - be installed on the Exchange Server itself.
However, wherever RPC/HTTP is installed, that DC must also be a GC.

Subject: RE: RPC over HTTP
I decided to read through the server article and the first thing that I see is:
RPC over HTTP/S also requires Windows Server 2003 in a Global Catalog role.
Is there a way to verify this? I have been told numerous times that the
Exchange server should NOT be a domain controller, but the article indicates
that it is.
It would be nice to know 100%, as it was a total pain to remove AD from that
machine, in fact it is still partially there.

Subject: RPC over HTTP
I have 3 remote users that travel a lot and I have setup Outlook to use RPC
over HTTP, I set it up according to the instructions I received, but on one
system, it refuses to work.
Can anyone provide official detailed instructions for setting this up?
Outlook 2003 Exchange 2003
