If you don't have Activesync working currently on a single server with form
based authentication you have to create a second virtual directory in IIS as
you have an backend authentication issue. Its all in the doc. That's why it
works with forms based off.

Good luck.

I got two ipads, both exec want exchange (active synch) for contacts, cals and
emails, I can auth them to exchange, but no synch. The ipad said "connection
to server failed", after trying to check mail.
I disabled form based auth off, and it worked I got it to synch, but but then
outlook and other exchange stuff went down down.

What is the proper how to getting ona single exchange server, active sync or
ipad/iphone sync for cals, contacts, and emails???

Any ideas??

Yes. Many. Not that I am very thrilled about it or anything..

Does activesync work at all on your box now? If activesync works for Windows
Mobile, then it should work for the IPHONE. Caviat..make sure you have a
trusted SSL cert installed on your server. Godaddy certs, netsol,
certificatesforexchange(rebranded godaddy) is my pref..

You can do a test at https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/
