I’m getting the heavy push from Sophos for us to eval one of these. Apparently right now they are giving away the appliance if you buy the software.
I don’t think we are going to go with it for the following: 1) I don’t need outbound encryption (I have a zix connection) 2) I have Sophos on my desktops, I prefer a different vendor for email protection than what I am running on my desktops. 3) If I need an anti-spam appliance, I’ll take a Barracuda any day. No per-user licenses on the Barracuda, and I ran a pair of 600’s for about 5 years at my previous gig with nary a problem. Just my .02 – I’m a big fan of Sophos, but for this particular application I just don’t see them as best of breed.
