Well...there is. A number of load balancers, big and small, support something called GLBS - Global Load Balancing Services. But that's "outside of Exchange itself". In terms of what is built-in to Exchange, you are correct.

I don't think there's a way to do it automagically. Oh and...teehee re: your last paragraph. You know what I mean :) From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Nicholas Turner Sent: 20 January 2011 11:28 To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Multi site CAS HA exchange 2007 I'm currently in the process of putting together a whitepaper/proposal for multi-site HA and the various options available to us. However my brain has broken when trying to work through the options for CAS HA over multiple sites as I can't work out a way to have automatic failover of an incoming point and the best option I can come up with so far is to just give people 2 different URL's for access or updating the external dns to point at the second site. Are there any options I've missed. Also has anyone had experience of HA provided via multi site virtualisation/SAN and products like EMC Autostart as I'm being pushed in that direction rather than anything sensible like 2010 and a multi site DAG.
