Twice now over the past week or two, I've had a problem with server-side rules
failing to run on our Exchange 2007 server. I have no clue how to troubleshoot.

We use Google Postini for e-mail archiving. This uses journaling, so every
message to/from our organization is sent to a journaling mailbox. There's a
server-side rule on the mailbox to forward all inbound messages to Postini and
them delete them. Pretty straightforward.

Then two weeks or so ago, the rule just stopped processing. Messages piled up
in the inbox by the thousands. The fix was easy enough-I logged into OWA,
deleted the rule, and recreated it. Poof-it started working again. I was
confused about why it happened, but didn't give it much more thought.

Then yesterday, the rule stopped working again. Again, messages piled up in the
inbox. Again, deleting and recreating the rule fixed the problem.

But obviously something is going on behind the scenes that causes this to keep
happening. Instead of treating the symptoms, I'd like to treat the root of the
problem. I'm not sure how, though.

Can any of you Exchange experts point me in the right direction?
