I have never used a Stretched VLAN but I will take a look at it. Thanks.

have you considered stretched VLAN and CAS Array?

Right now we have two 2003 servers (one per site) in one domain, both setup
with a MX record in external DNS. If one server fails, most incoming messages
get automatically redirected to the other one and both servers send outgoing
messages directly. External users can connect to the server that stores their
data using either
server1.domain.com/Exchange<http://server1.domain.com/Exchange> or
server2.domain.com/Exchange<http://server2.domain.com/Exchange> (they know
which one to use).
What's the best way to replicate the setup with 2010? I would like to keep two
MX DNS records (in case one site goes down) and run two CAS servers (one per
site). It is kind of working - I have moved all users in one site to the new
2010 server and they have no problems (internally they can connect using
Outlook, externally they can connect using
server1.domain.com/owa<http://server1.domain.com/owa> and autodiscover allows
them to easily connect using mobile devices). Now I would like to start using
the second server for users in the second site but I ran into at least one
problem - the Autodiscover service. The external DNS
(autodiscover.domain.com<http://autodiscover.domain.com>) points to the first
server and I am not sure how to setup the second one in the second site. This
is causing problems for both users and some other services (VIPRE for Exchange
requires the autodiscover to work). Any suggestions? Or is there a better way
to set it up? I searched for a similar scenario with two CAS servers in two
sites in the same domain (both the archives and the Internet) and I did not
find much. Thanks.
