Sweet, so I stumped the geniuses. doesn't look good.

So, I actually deleted and recreated the virtual directories in IIS. No change.

It looks like the devices do authenticate and attempt to setup accounts on the
phone, but are unable to actually sync anything. This would jive with what the
testconnectivity site says.

And the active sync clients point to the same url as webmail. Someone didn't set up two url's?

Thanks Jim,

DNS is okay. webmail is working and also browsing to the /oma instead of /exchange works.

What URL are the active sync clients pointed towards...I would guess you have a public dns record for that, the clients point to that record and after you re-IP'd the exchange server you broke it. Probably a translation in the firewall will fix it up so incoming traffic from the outside world gets routed to the new IP.

Subject: active sync broken

hi all,

I'm in a bind at a client. After some networking changes at the office and a re-IP of a standalone exchange 2003 server, active sync to iphones seems to be broken. I'm assuming its broken for other devices. I can browse to the OMA folder in a browser though.

If I run a test at testexchangeconnectivity.com it fails toward the end with this:

Attempting the FolderSync command on the Exchange ActiveSync session.
The test of the FolderSync command failed.

Any ideas at what I should be looking for with this?

Thanks!

Bill
