So there's your answer, Jim.

Make sure that the new domain is defined in your recipient policy, and
you'll probably be good to go.  Note that, based on the choices you
make, there are implications for default e-mail addresses and whatnot.
 I would think that some research into Exchange 2003 recipient
policies will have you where you need to be in no time.

in mind it's a very general overview.
